And just like that... the final days of classes and concerts bring the winter term and 2025-26 academic year to an end, but not before we get to enjoy some terrific year-end performances.
Student composers and chamber group musicians cap their collaborative year with a showcase gala featuring new compositions written by current students. Electroacoustic compositions written by students are also premiered this month.
Choirs sing their annual farewell with Les Choristes and Western University Singers up first performing on Apr. 8 and Chorale with guests Student Leadership Choral Collective performing to close out the choral season on Apr. 9.
Pop Band, Jazz Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Salsa Band, and Contemporary Music Studio all take their final bows this month. Student credit recitals typically continue throughout the month, even after classes conclude on April 9.

Ensemble Auditions
Are you a Western student and play an instrument or sing? All Western students – regardless of major – are eligible to audition for ensembles and opera.
Opera at Western
It's an exciting year for Opera at Western. Two fully-staged productions—one each term, featuring two distinct casts each—plus a gala event in the winter term.
New Horizons Band
Do you want to learn (or re-learn) to play wind or percussion instruments? New Horizons Band is a popular community outreach program for adults.
