Die Zauberflöte ◦ The Magic Flute | March 6-9, 2025
W. A. Mozart
Mozart's last—and often deemed best—opera is The Magic Flute. This comic tale is a timeless adventure: save the princess! Serpents and sorcerers, trials and temptations beleaguer our bumbling heroes in their quests to find true love. Production is set in modern times. Music sung in German, dialogue in English.

Opera and Musical Theatre Gala with the Early Music Studio | February 1, 2025
Opera at Western presents an inspiring afternoon of favourite operatic and musical theatre excerpts from the earliest periods of operatic composition to the present time of opera and musical theatre. Portions of the performance will be accompanied by Western’s Early Music Studio, prepared by musical director Joseph Lanza. The performance will be divided into two segments, the first containing Early Music performance excerpts and the second will highlight additional operatic features and musical theatre selections.

Die Fledermaus ◦ The Bat | November 14-17, 2024
J. Strauss Jr.
Die Fledermaus is a perennially popular and deeply cherished Viennese comedic operetta. This hilarious screwball comedy has something for everyone: practical jokes and posh masked balls, mistaken identity and deception, romance and seduction—all set to an enchanting score from the Waltz King himself, Johann Strauss II. Music and dialogue in English.
