Established in the fall of 2022, the Salsa Band is one of Western’s newest ensembles.
The Salsa Band—dubbed Los Gansitos ("the baby geese") in honour of Western's perennial guest stars—plays music from places like Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela, and New York, commonly called ‘Salsa.’
This course prepares musicians for professional situations they may encounter in their future, including composing adaptations and arrangements of famous tunes for the ensemble.
