Voice at Western
Western University Singers is a mixed-voice ensemble at the Don Wright Faculty of Music that includes singers at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and is conducted by Dr. Mark Ramsay. The choir has premiered numerous commissions and new works, including Matthew Emery’s “Be Still My Heart”, and enjoys collaborating with other choral and instrumental organizations. Recent collaborators include Sherryl Sewepagaham and the Canadian Chamber Choir, and London Gospel Collective.
The choir has received numerous national and international awards, including several CBC Radio Choral Competition prizes, first place in the BBC International Choral Competition, Canadian Music Educators’ Association Performance Awards, the London Music Awards' Most Popular Classical Vocal Group, and the Jack Richardson Music Award for Classical Choir. Tours have included performances at the national conventions of Choral Canada, the American Choral Directors Association, and the Kodály Society of Canada.

Commemorating the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Join the Don Wright Faculty of Music for a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation commemoration concert. As part of the events leading up to September 30, this event will feature solo performances by alumni Emma Pennell and Evan Korbut and Master's student Rebecca Crane as well selections performed by the Western University Singers. Programming includes selections from Ian Cusson's Five Songs on Poems by Marilyn Dumont: “Letter to Sir John A MacDonald”, “Red + White”, and “The Devil's Language”.
