Faculty of Music Students Council (FoMSC)
At Western, you have the opportunity to excel and develop as a student leader. FoMSC provides a variety of involvement opportunities that cater to many interests so all students can actively participate in the Music community.
FoMSC coordinates the following student-led initiatives
- Peer Guides - a free tutoring and academic enrichment service for undergrads
- Choir Council - a student-led team that supports and represents students in the choral program
- Student Leadership Choral Collective (SLCC) - a student-led choir ranging across languages, styles, and eras
- Music Education Student Association (MESA) - a student-led team that supports and represents students in all things Music Education related
- Music Soph Team - an upper-year team of music students that supports first years in entering post-secondary education
- Faculty of Music Indigenous Leadership Initiative (FOMILI) - an Indigenous Leadership Initiative that serves to support Indigenous music students
- Global Grooves - a London-based music collective platforming minority musicians
- Mistapes Records - a student-run record label, promoting new music
- Music Research & Composition Student Association - a student-led team that supports and represents students in the Music Research and Composition programs
- OPUS - a student-oriented magazine published each semester
- Formal & Semi-Formal events
- Acting as a FoMSC/community liaison for gigs
- Wellness weeks with plenty of wellness activities and events each semester
- And many more exciting events!
