STUDENTS TAKE THE STAGE!
As mid-terms approach, October brings the first student performances of the year. First up this year are performances from the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, all three choirs (Chorale, Les Choristes and Western University Singers) and the Symphony Orchestra with a haunting Halloween-themed concert to close out the month.
At the beginning of the month, we welcome back New Orford String Quartet, Western University’s Official Artists-in-Residence for a culminating concert of their residency where they will be joined by Dean Michael Kim on piano. The residency provides a variety of invaluable learning opportunities for string students at the faculty.
We look forward to welcoming this year’s distinguished Parsons and Poole Concert and Masterclass guest artist, Sir Stephen Hough, piano, on Oct.18 and 19.
The Fridays at 12:30 concert series features a mix of guest artists and faculty performers this month, including faculty members Aaron Hodgson, trumpet, and Angela Park, piano, the Obsidiana Duo, Conspiratus Brass, and soprano Adrianne Pieczonka.
