Barbara Sarma has been a dance lecturer at Western University since 2003. She teaches a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, which include Dance Improvisation, Introduction to Modern Dance, Elementary Modern Dance Technique, Movement Making and Movement and Dance for Singers. Her students are encouraged to discover their unique "movement voice" through exploration as well as technique. 

Barbara has a wide range of experience as a dancer, choreographer, facilitator and adjudicator/judge. Her numerous teaching awards (Part-Time Teaching Award of Excellence, USC Teaching Honour Roll Awards of Excellence, Recognition of Excellence Faculty of Health Sciences) are an indication of her commitment to Dance Education. She earned her BA in psychology specializing in dance from Western University.
