Western hosts the Atlantic Festivals of Music

Atlantic Festivals of Music, one of Canada's premier music festivals, takes place at Western University on May 8-9. Hosted at the Don Wright Faculty of Music, the two-day event follows the first part of the Festival, which kicked off in Halifax, NS on May 1-3. Approximately 200 students will be at Western over two days taking part in clinics, workshops and adjudicated performances.

Featured performer is Musica Quinta, Western's faculty brass quintet. Many of the clinicians and adjudicators are Western faculty and alumni, including faculty adjudicator and alumna Janet Loo. Current students are on hand to welcome the young musicians and assist with the Festival.

This is the sixth annual Atlantic Festivals of Music, and the fourth time the group have returned to Western. Adjudicated performances will be broadcast live.
