Elizabeth Kinghorn is a PhD candidate in Music Education at Western University. Elizabeth completed her BMus degree in music history and theory from the University of Toronto in 2004. She then worked as a full-time teacher of voice and occasional teacher of piano, music history, and music theory for ten years before returning to full-time studies, earning her MMus in Music Education at Western University in 2015. Elizabeth has also worked as a choral conductor, church music director, organist, and cantor.

Elizabeth is passionate about music and also loves science – particularly psychology and neuroscience, which has led her to combine those interests in the field of music psychology. She is interested in musical learning, psychoacoustics (the perception of sound) and music’s emotional power.
