Sophie Roland and students publish new experiential learning studies

Music Education graduate students Kelly Bylica and Laura Benjamins, with Performance professor Sophie Roland, have published two new studies of experiential learning this year. Research for these articles was conducted at the Accademia Europea dell’Opera (AEDO), a music performance summer program specializing in opera, which Roland runs.

The articles are: “The complexities of meaningful experiential learning: Exploring reflective practice in music performance studies,” which was published in October in the International Journal of Music Education, and “Brokering Reflective Spaces: Experiential Learning in a Summer Opera Program,” published in Arts and Humanities in Higher Education.
