Kate Helsen Presents Gregorian Analytics
On October 26, 2017, Kate Helsen presented her research at the Eastman School of Music’s Symposium: Machine-Reading and Crowdsourcing Medieval Music Manuscripts. Helsen’s presentation: "Gregorian Analytics: Teaching the Electric Monk to Chant", was one of eight presentations by an international group of scholars who provided the state of digital humanities research as it relates to studies of medieval music manuscripts, including machine-reading of early music notation and collaborative techniques for indexing manuscripts of medieval chant.
