Don Wright Faculty of Music mourns the loss of Don McKellar
The Don Wright Faculty of Music mourns the loss of former Associate Dean and long-time supporter Don McKellar who passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016. With Dean Clifford von Kuster, Professor McKellar was instrumental in developing the Faculty of Music and bringing it to campus with the building of the Music Building that has been recently renovated and expanded upon. His influence in the world of music education has been felt locally, provincially, nationally and internationally. His presence continued locally as a conductor of bands and attendee at concerts.

During the Don Wright Faculty of Music Reunion Weekend, September 30 - October 2, the Alumni Concert – featuring both the Alumni Choir, conducted by Joan Andrews (Class of 1966), and the Faculty Brass Quintet (Musica Quinta) – will be dedicated in memory of Don McKellar. Alumni and guests are invited to attend the concert, which begins at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in von Kuster Hall, Don Wright Faculty of Music.

The first Wind Ensemble concert of the year is dedicated to the memory of former Associate Dean and founding conductor of Western's symphony orchestra and bands Don McKellar. Friday, October 21, 2016 at 8 p.m. in the Paul Davenport Theatre, Talbot College, Western University.
