December Musings
Fall term classes come to an end on Dec. 9, but concerts and special events continue including a Fridays at 12:30 concert series performance by the seven-member Tamarack Brass.
The Salsa Band heads “up the hill” for their first official concert of the year and will take over The Spoke in the University Community Centre on Dec. 8.
Most of our large ensembles have a chance to musically sign off on 2026. Not-to-be-missed this month is a concert featuring Electroacoustic composition students as they share their work.
All three Choirs at Western (Chorale, Les Choristes and Western University Singers) will perform for the second time this term.
The Contemporary Music Studio ended up not running this year. Its fall term concert, previously advertised for Dec. 7, will of course no longer take place.

Behind the events
Internally, students come together to celebrate the approaching holiday break with festive music concerts organized by the Faculty of Music Student Council. Externally, we expect our community will come together again at Covent Garden Market for the annual festive Tuba concert – stay tuned to our socials for more details!
