New student award established by celebrated alum Nancy Telfer BA’71, BMus’79
Western alum Nancy Telfer
Accomplished composer, educator, and Western alum Nancy Telfer has established the Nancy Telfer Award in Choral Music by way of a generous endowment to recognize and support undergraduate choral students who demonstrate the potential to become impactful choral leaders in the future.
Awarded annually to two undergraduate students in year 3 of a Music Education or Performance degree, and continued into year 4, these awards offered at $2,000 each will help harness the strong creativity and problem-solving skills of those shaping future generations of the evolving choral community.
The Don Wright Faculty of Music remains grateful for the incredible support of exceptional alumni and committed community members, allowing our students and their music to flourish.
