Seven students, alumni selected for NYO Canada 2024
Once again, Western is well represented in this year’s National Youth Orchestra of Canada (NYO Canada) roster with seven students and recent alumni selected for the 2024 program.
Congratulations to Chia-Hsuan Chen and Ivan Li (violins), Miriam Elsawi, Rachel Miner and Tasman Tantasawat (violas); Luke Roussy (base trombone) and Andrew Busch (percussion) who will join the three-week 2024 Horizons Tour in July after completing the five-week summer training institute, which begins in June.
The mission of NYO Canada is to recruit the best young classical musicians from across the country and prepare them for careers as professional orchestral musicians. Each year, NYO Canada auditions more than 500 musicians ages 16-28.
