Biography

Pianist Seohyang Oh is a professional concert pianist and collaborative artist. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Dongeui University under Dr. Dongseom Lee, later pursuing further studies at Brandon University in Canada under Dr. Kyung Kim. Driven by her passion for music, she has completed a Diploma in Instrumental Collaborative Piano at the Internationale Akademie für Musik Köln, as well as certificate programs at the University of Washington Piano Institute and the National University of Singapore (Music Composition).

Oh has earned recognition in numerous competitions, winning First Prize in the Contemporary Music category at the Brandon Festival of the Arts, along with accolades from the Busan Duo Competition and the Kyungnam Maestro Competition. Her professional performing career includes appearances on KBS’s The Stage and Auditorium, MBC’s Regular Thursday Concert, and the Korea–Japan Exchange Recital. She has also served as a pianist for the Busan Women’s Union Choir and the Dongeui Music Conservatory, where she was also a faculty member.

Currently a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) candidate at Western University studying under Dr. Kyung Kim, Seohyang serves as a graduate teaching assistant and is the Artistic Director of the London Art Song Collective (LASC).

A versatile musician, she has worked as an opera coach—directing productions such as Die Zauberflöte and Così fan tutte—and has appeared with the Whole Tone Symphony Orchestra. Alongside her leadership at LASC, she is a music coach for Allway Korea, the pianist for Vocal Ensemble NUOVO, and an active soloist and chamber musician with the DongEui Piano Society.
