We are pleased to announce next year's Opera at Western productions (dates TBA). Tickets will go on sale by early August for both fully staged opera. Opera Gala is free admission.

Some works belong to the theatre. Don Giovanni belongs to us. Comedy and tragedy, wit and terror, the human and the supernatural are all stretched to their expressive limits. Mozart and Da Ponte create a work that reaches beyond genre in the search for what it means to be, simply, human. Don Giovanni speaks to every generation because it never stops revealing who we are—and it never will.

Students from Western's opera program will perform baroque opera excerpts with the Early Music Studio.

Death is part of life. In Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, Puccini tells us so with extraordinary simplicity—once through tears, once through laughter. Two one-act masterpieces, worlds apart in tone yet inseparable in spirit, reveal a composer at the height of his art, embracing life in all its beauty, sorrow, and humanity.
