Parking
We understand parking at Western can seem daunting for first-time visitors, especially with ongoing road and lot construction on and around campus. We encourage you to review options in advance and leave ample time to make it to your destination, especially during business hours September to April.
The closest parking lots to the Don Wright Faculty of Music are the Talbot Lot (adjacent), South Valley Lot (4–6 min walk; enter via Music Building), and the Medway Lot (6–8 min walk over the University Drive bridge). View parking maps
Campus rates and availability vary by lot, and time of use and are subject to change. View all visitor parking options. Honk Mobile visitor parking is available in the Talbot Lot and throughout campus. Please pay close attention to all parking lot signage for changes. All spaces are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. For complete campus parking information, please visit Western Parking Services.
Paid parking (Monday to Friday) is available at the Talbot Lot in all spots (including near the Tennis Centre) except those with special signage. Payment can be made via Honk Mobile (credit cards only, no debit). Rates (as of August 2025) are $1.50 per half hour to a daily maximum of $21 (+35¢ convenience fee via Honk Mobile).
Free weekend parking is available at the Talbot Lot (Fri. 4pm–Mon. 6am) and almost all campus lots (excluding Chemistry). Do not park in spots with reserved signage. There is no need to use Honk during free parking periods. Just park and go! Visit Parking Services for additional free evening and weekend parking options throughout campus.
Good to know: Lots can fill up quickly, especially for opera performances and "Fridays at 12:30" concerts. Plan your time accordingly and be prepared to park in alternate lots.
Drop off areas with ramp access and a limited number of accessible parking spots are available next to the Music Building facing the sports field (von Kuster Hall, Moscovich Recital Hall) and Talbot College (Paul Davenport Theatre) at the drop off area closest to University Drive bridge.
