Opera Audition
Auditions for the 2026-27 mainstage productions are conducted by video submission and due June 22. Students wishing to be considered for either or both productions are invited to submit a recent video recording here: https://uwo.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_aXFWwqDdZdrVrG6
Operatic arias are preferred, however, equivalent repertoire may also be submitted, provided it demonstrates your voice appropriately for the role(s) of interest.
Any remaining roles, chorus as well as gala parts will be cast in September. Auditions for these roles will be held on the evenings of September 14 and 15.

The Audition Panel will hear your audition and will cast all roles Don Giovanni, the Gala and Suor Angelica/Gianni Schicchi.
Audition Panel
Voting Members
- Conductor/Music Director of each production
- Director of the production being cast (if available)
- Head Coach of Opera at Western
- Full time Voice Faculty Members who hear ALL the auditions
Casting Guidelines
- All principal roles will be cast by simple majority vote of the panel.
- Once casting is made, cast combinations will be at the discretion of the director and music director with input from the head coach.
- Any member of the audition panel that has a student involved in the audition process cannot vote for their student but may abstain from that vote.
- Each member of the audition panel must view all the auditions, or their vote will not be recorded.
