Western Youth Wind Ensemble

The Western Youth Wind Ensemble (WYWE) is a program for young musicians in Grades 10-12 who want to continue their musical development by working in an honour band-like environment. Students receive high-level instruction from Western University faculty members in rehearsals and sectionals and are able to develop relationships with like-minded peers.

Who can participate?

The program provides instruction for students currently in grades 10, 11 or 12 who are studying one of the following instruments: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Saxophone (all types), Horn, Trumpet, Baritone Horn/Euphonium, Trombone, Tuba, and Percussion. Students who may not have the opportunity to participate in a formal ensemble at their school are also welcome.

In grade 6, 7, 8 or 9? Join us for the Young Winds program!
