Western's Opera program has enjoyed a colourful and successful history. It has been major part of the growth of the vocal program at the Don Wright Faculty of Music. It was the first university program in North America to make use of surtitles generated by computer program:  Surtitles™ (Canadian Opera Company trademark, used by permission) to project translations for productions in a foreign language.

Opera productions are performed with the Opera Orchestra and guest conductor(s).
