Dance at Western
Dance courses have been offered at Western University for many years. Beginning in the 2011-12 academic year, students could officially claim Dance as a minor through the Don Wright Faculty of Music, Music Education department.
There are a variety of courses offered which provide students with a well-rounded selection, with introductory courses in Dance Basics, Modern Technique, Theatre Dance, Dance Composition and Production, Movement Making and Dance Improvisation as well as continuing courses in Modern, Composition, Ballet Fundamentals, and Performance Practice and Production.
The program is open to all students across the university, however, students enrolled in the Dance Minor program, kinesiology students and music students have priority in the registration for most of these dance courses.
