Join us for a five-day percussion workshop designed for both students and teachers (two streams).

Two streams of participants:

Given feedback from the 2015 inaugural PercShop, changes have been made to accommodate greater diversity of experience and to build on past experience.

  • Pre-University Stream for grades 9-12
  • Adult Stream-Teachers and University Students

Learn and explore:

  • Fundamentals - Keyboard Percussion and Snare Drum
  • Concert Percussion
  • Percussion Ensemble
  • Exploratory Sessions: Drumset, Timpani, Latins, Toys
  • Drumline



18 and under: $339.00 ($300.00 + HST)
Adults: $452.00 ($400.00 + HST)

Over 30 hours of hands-on instruction and playing during the PercShop, including seven hours of instruction and rehearsal each day on professional quality instruments, culminating in a final concert Friday afternoon.

Daily Schedule:

9:00 - 9:50 a.m.        Fundamentals - Snare and Keyboard
9:50 a.m.                   Break
10:00 - 10:50 a.m.    Fundamentals - Snare and Keyboard (switch from previous session)
11:00 - 12:30 p.m.    Percussion Ensemble Rehearsal or Exploratory sessions
12:30 p.m.                 Lunch
1:30 p.m.                   Drumline or Pedagogy
2:30 - 3:15 p.m.        Practice/Concerts
3:30 - 5:00 p.m.        Exploratory sessions or Percussion Ensemble rehearsal

Accommodation and food are the responsibility of the participants. Various places to stay on and off campus are available at a reasonable cost.
