Andrea earned her Bachelor of Music from Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario (2016), her Performer’s ARCT diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto (2017) and her Master of Music from Western University in London, Ontario (2019). With UWOpera Andrea appeared in the Spring Gala as Giannetta in selected scenes from L’Elisir d’amore (2018) and performed the role of Flora in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw (2018). In 2019, she travelled to Novafeltria, Italy to perform the role of Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. In the fall of 2019 she will be stage managing UWOpera’s production of Mozart’s La finta giardiniera.
Andrea is continuing her studies at Western University in the Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance program under the tutelage of Patricia Green. Her research interests include the contemporary vocal music of Canadian women composers, specifically the works of Ana Sokolovic. Andrea hopes to discover the challenges, aesthetics, styles and idiosyncrasies while performing this repertoire and in doing so, help others navigate this stimulating and often perplexing genre.
